Our use of Fundraise Up
The information below is related to World Vision UK's use of Fundraise Up for the purpose of processing regular donations on our website.
Information we collect and why
When you use this platform to make a donation, we will collect the following information from you:
- Your name and email address (mandatory), and full postal address (optional). If you agree to Gift Aid a donation, we will be required to collect your postal address.
- If given, your consent to send you further direct marketing communications by email, post, text and/or phone. You can also opt-out of future marketing contact.
We will only use this information to process your donation and keep a record of it. We do not have access to your financial information, which is securely managed by a payment gateway or credit card agency.
All information is stored securely within the Fundraise Up platform and within World Vision UK's database. We are committed to protecting your personal information, and will not share your data with any other charity, public body or commercial organisation for their marketing purposes.

Transaction costs and fees explained
World Vision UK pays 4.2% plus 20p fees to Fundraise Up and Stripe per transaction. This covers all processing fees and keeps our online donation service secure. When you choose to cover the transaction costs, this ensures that more of your money goes towards helping children living in the world’s hardest places.
These fees include:
- 3% Fundraise Up platform fee (including address verification tools)
- 1.2% + 20p transaction fee for UK credit and debit cards.
Cookies
This platform also uses two Strictly Necessary cookies to set user preferences, remember session content and help with anti-fraud detection. For more details about the cookies we use, please see our Privacy and Cookies policy.
Data sharing and international transfers
Data is only shared with Fundraise Up for the purposes of service provision. Primary data is processed at a UK-based data centre. Fundraise Up business servers are located and backed-up in North America. World Vision UK has ensured that adequate and recognised safeguards are in place before any necessary international data transfers take place.
