Supporting children to overcome poverty

Our focus is to help the most vulnerable children living in the most dangerous places to overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. We are a Christian charity helping children of all backgrounds growing up in poverty.

We tackle extreme poverty at its roots. With your support, we work alongside communities to bring lifesaving healthcare, clean water, nutrition, quality education, child protection and ways for families to make a living.

Communities set their own goals for transformation. We work with them for up to 15 years, until families are self-sufficient, healthy and thriving. And because children and communities are integral in creating the change, it lasts.

Nadepe's Story

A brighter future - Nadepe gets a chance to go to school

Seven-year-old Nadepe, lives in a rural and dry region in Turkana, Kenya. With short rainy seasons and increasing deforestation across Kenya, families are finding it difficult to make a living from livestock and to grow nutritious food. Much of the population is living in poverty and children often go to bed hungry.

Nadepe is the youngest of six siblings. Before becoming a sponsored child, Nadepe stayed at home to take care of the goats and do chores whilst her siblings went to school. Less than half of the children in the area go to school, because of the cost of the fees and their remote location. It’s more common for children to help their families earn a living, and girls, especially, are kept from school, because they’re often forced into child marriage to bring their parents a dowry. However, through Child Sponsorship, Nadepe has been given the opportunity to go to school, which has helped her build a brighter future.
