A prayer for refugees
Join us in praying for refugees, fleeing from conflict and natural disasters
Across the world, there are 36 million children who have been forcibly displaced from their homes, and more than 7 in 10 of all refugees come from just five countries: Syrian Arab Republic, Venezuela, Ukraine, Afghanistan and South Sudan.
Child refugees have been forced from their homes due to conflict, violence and disasters like floods and drought. Many women and children have crossed the borders into different countries, leaving behind loved ones and often becoming displaced overnight. The refugee crisis is only growing.
The global refugee population has more than doubled in the last decade, meaning that more children are unable to access essentials like clean water, food, shelter, healthcare, education and protection.
World Vision is helping children survive, recover and build a future, but refugees need our prayers now more than ever.
Join us in praying for refugees
Wherever we go in the world, wherever life takes us, you remain faithful, you are with us.
Father God, we pray that all who have had to flee their homes, not knowing if or when they might return, will know this truth.
Pray for peace and protection
Whatever trials we face, whatever dangers we encounter, you are our protector, you are our sustainer.
We ask for your protection over all those who have taken a hazardous route of migration. We ask especially that you would give them peace and protect refugee children that are finding themselves in vulnerable circumstances.
Pray for those helping refugees around the world
Whoever we meet in life, wherever they are from, whatever their story, you command us to have compassion, you compel us to show love.
We thank you for all those who work tirelessly to improve the lives of the world’s refugees. Those who offer practical support, those who advocate for their rights, those who offer a loving and compassionate welcome at refugee camps. Bless and strengthen them, we pray.
