A prayer for the Middle East

Please join us in our prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today and ask for your mercy in the Middle East, where hundreds of thousands of people have been forced out of their homes.

Please, Lord, bring an end to violence that is destroying lives.

We lift up those who’ve been displaced as well as those who’ve been unable to leave their homes, praying for their safety and wellbeing. We think of those who are most vulnerable: children and families; the elderly; disabled people; those living with long-term illness; pregnant women and new mothers.

Lord, you know each one by name. We ask you to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

We pray for those who are grieving in the midst of all this, asking you to comfort them in their time of need.

Father God, we also ask for wisdom for all who can make a difference. For organisations like World Vision, who are supporting those who’ve been affected. And for the international community, seeking to de-escalate the situation.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.
