Changing your AmazonSmile charity to World Vision

What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is an innovative and simple way for you to donate to your favourite charities when shopping for your favourite products on Amazon. AmazonSmile can be used by anyone and once activated, Amazon will automatically support your charity when you shop, at no extra cost or inconvenience to you.
“Amazon donates 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charitable organisation of your choice.” So far, AmazonSmile has donated over 10 million to UK charities and more is given every day.
It can be used on your web browser, can be activated through the Amazon Shopping App on IOS and Android phones. You don’t have to create a new account and it can be set up in a matter of minutes. Note: If you are a Prime member, all Prime benefits will be applied to your Smile account.
How to activate AmazonSmile
It is very simple and easy for everyone to use AmazonSmile and support their chosen charities. If you are using your web browser, then simply go to smile.amazon.co.uk, sign in to your account and follow the on-screen instructions. Similarly, if you are using it on the Amazon Shopping App then tap on “AmazonSmile” within the settings and again, follow the on-screen instructions.
It’ll be here you are encouraged to choose a charity close to your heart. With over 1 million to choose from, there are a lot of great options out there. To find us, simply type ‘World Vision’ into the search box and select ‘World Vision UK’.
AmazonSmile automatically renews twice a year to allow you to keep supporting your favourite charities as well as helping to keep AmazonSmile on the mobile app. You will be notified when your Smile account renews.
Through World Vision’s work, every 60 seconds a family gets water, a hungry child is fed and a family receives the tools to overcome poverty.
How to change your AmazonSmile charity to World Vision
When you first set up your AmazonSmile account, you are asked to select a charitable organisation for your to support when you are shopping online or on the app, but you can change this at any time if you wish to support a selection of different organisations. This is simple and easy to do and you can follow the simple instructions below if you wish to change your chosen charity to World Vision.
Changing your AmazonSmile charity to World Vision on web browser:
- Open AmazonSmile in your web browser and go to your AmazonSmile account, found at the bottom of the menu under ‘Help & Settings’.
- On the right-hand side of the screen, you should see a heading ‘Your current charity’, click the button under this heading titled ‘Change charity’.
- Search ‘World Vision’ and select ‘World Vision Uk’.
- Your charity should now be updated.
- Start buying your favourite products and let AmazonSmile donate to our mission.
Changing your AmazonSmile charity to World Vision in the app:
- Click on the AmazonSmile button in the mobile app, found in the menu under ‘Settings’.
- Click ‘Change charity’ (found at the top of the page, just under your charities details).
- Search ‘World Vision’ and select ‘World Vision Uk’.
- Your charity should now be updated.
- Start buying your favourite products and let AmazonSmile donate to our mission.
How to check how much you’ve donated via AmazonSmile
Now you’ve started using AmazonSmile and donating to World Vision, it can be exciting to see how much money you’ve managed to give simply by going about your day-to-day routine. If you want to check how much money you’ve donated already, you can do so easily.
On the app, go to AmazonSmile in the ‘Settings’ area of your menu and scroll down to see not only your total AmazonSmile impact, but the total amount donated to your charity (once you generate your first donated) and the UK and global impact too. In your web browser, you can see this in your AmazonSmile account, found at the bottom of the menu under ‘Help & Settings’.
