World Vision CEO wins a Black Excellence Award

Fola Komolafe delighted to win Black Female Pioneer of the Year.

We're thrilled that our CEO Fola Komolafe MBE DL has been awarded the Black Female Pioneer of the Year Award at Milton Keynes’ first Black Excellence Awards!

The Awards celebrate and champion black talent in the community and the positive impacts they have made.

Fola, pictured here being presented with the award by Milton Keynes Mayor Mick Legg, was one of 11 nominees announced in October, Black History Month.

She was delighted to receive the accolade and gave a rallying call: "I believe that together with boldness, passion and courage we can accomplish all the great things we have set our hearts to do."

World Vision UK was proud to appoint Fola as their first black female CEO in 2023. As someone who spent her childhood in Nigeria and with a track record of success in UK businesses and community endeavours, her unique perspective helps further strengthen our approach to tackling the complex challenges of global poverty.

Fola shares World Vision's passion for equality, diversity and inclusion.

We are a Christian organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities of all faiths - and none - to overcome poverty and to see lives transformed.

Congratulations Fola and we look forward to all you bring to World Vision in the future months and years!
