Hike to the base of the world's highest mountain
This challenging 12-day expedition allows you to walk in the footsteps of some of the world’s most respected mountaineers, and offers an insight into the culture of the Sherpa people - all amidst stunning surroundings.
Nepal's Everest Base Camp is located at 5,364m and mountaineers base themselves here for weeks to acclimatise on the mountain, return to rest and prepare themselves for their ascent.
The scenery along the trail is beautiful with views of huge Himalayan peaks dominating the landscape. Staying in teahouses along the trail offers a unique insight into the lives of the local people. The trip also includes an optional, but highly recommended, trek to the summit of Kala Patthar, a small peak that offers one of the most incredible views of Mount Everest.
The trip is operated by Different Travel, a tour operator who's ethos of helping communities at home and abroad is upheld by ensuring that everyone benefits from the trip – the local community, the participants and of course World Vision, through fundraising. Underpinning everything they do is ensuring their trips are safe, responsible and sustainable.
