World Vision provides water, sanitation, and hygiene education to families like Anood’s. Staff became aware that Anood was eagerly mobilising her community, especially her peers, to participate in the good hygiene practices.
Anood says most of the families in her camp didn’t know how to treat water or store it. Since WASH they have changed their approach to using water, and she believes that's the reason they no longer get as sick.
She observed the children learn and understand better when she or her peers teach them in their accents, she has been practicing teaching on weekends and plans to continue learning if they get to return home.
Anood hopes that the conflict will end soon, so they can go back to their homes and not stay at the camp forever. Learning and teaching have made her feel good and strong. She says she will try her best, with the support of her family, to study more and she has dreams of becoming a teacher.
Your charitable contributions will help children like Anood who have suffered fear, loss, devastation and yet, are making the best of their situation.
